It's been a long time since I posted. Life has been crazy lately. First with the holidays and then Heather came to see me! :D And then I had an awful sinus infection. And finally had the surgery to remove the tumor. Just got the stitches out Wednesday and the biopsy of the tumor came back....benign. Praise the Lord!!!
I don't have anything terribly profound to say, but I thought I would post anyway.
While I am here, I was thinking about love today. Lots of people say love and it has become common place, the word that is, almost an adverb or adjective. How many times have you said lately and not even noticed it?
Now if you really think about love....what is it? When I think of love I think of God. (I also think of my husband cause I love him too.) God loves us. None of us doubt that. If you notice in the Bible, God SHOWS us His love. He gives....He gives...He gave His only Son....it is an action. So love is an action in the Bible.
Do you love God?
Have you told Him that lately?
Yes, God knows when we love Him, we follow His commandments. But just imagine how it makes His heart smile if we just tell Him every now and then that we LOVE Him. And tell Him why. Remember that old poem Oh How I Love Thee, Let Me Count The Ways..... Why not do this for God.
I know my husband love me, don't doubt it for a minute, but there is something so wonderfully satisfying and reassuring to hear him TELL me that.
God doesn't need to be reassured, but we need to reassure Him. He knows our needs before we mention them, yet He wants us to pray and I think that is so our souls don't forget. We need that time alone with God every day to go to Him in prayer.
And while you are saying your prayers tonight, why don't you let God know how much you love Him. And just for yourself, mention at least five reasons why you love Him.
Good night friends.
