I am so curious to know how many of you now have a song running through your head. :0) I always have a song running in my head and sometimes it can be rather annoying. But that is another story.
Sorry it has been so long since I have posted. Lots going on. We went on vacation and had a wonderful time. We visited with my dh's dad in St. Charles and had some fantastic family together time Sunday and Monday. The rest of the time we mostly set off on our own and saw some things we hadn't seen before, and went some places we hadn't gone before. Then we headed out and visited one of my friends...Squirl and her family. The squirlettes are gorgeous and just as precious, I truly enjoyed the time with her family, including her mom and dad and grandmothers. They so reminded me of my own family that it almost made me homesick. And on my fridge I am proudly displaying some art from Squirlette #1. It will probably hang there until she makes me something new, (that's a huge hint, lol). I truly enjoyed spending time with Squirl. She is a wonderful person with a heart for God. We made a fruit basket while I was there (you know the kind of basket made out of a watermelon?) and while we were trying to make little melon balls, I flung a goodly amount on the wall, but it was fun. I never would have taken the time to do that at home, I would have just cut the melon and got out of the boys' way. I also left my pillow, but I do that every time I go somewhere...so if you invite me to your house (or I invite myself) expect to get a pillow out of the deal. :0)
We are getting ready to head out again. My husband has a birthday Monday (yes, he was a Father's Day baby) and naturally we want to celebrate Father's Day. Some old friends of ours (we have been friends for a long time, they really aren't that old) invited us to a Father's Day picnic about an hour's drive from here and my dh decided that we should just camp there. (Considering that he is a night owl and does not like getting up early, this seemed a wise decision :0). ) So of course I should be packing for that but I am waiting for the kids to bring me their stuff while I hone my procrastination skills.
As far as writing...still haven't gotten much done. I reworked one chapter of a historical I wrote eons ago. I did go over some of the chapters in my current wip, but didn't do much writing in it, just a little. My husband said he thought it was okay to rest for a while. I am still studying to improve my craft, just not doing much in the way of writing right now. That will change once I get back from this trip. I think I am finally ready to give it a try.
Most of my energy has been focused on diet and exercise, trying to loose the excess twenty pounds I put on since I quite smoking. Awful, awful. If I loose the entire twenty, my doctor's nurse will kill me, but I am trying to loose some of it and firm up in the process. I have lost five pounds and I can tell certain areas are firming up. Today has been a hungry day for me, probably because I have been so busy. The kids and I walk at least four to five times a week and I exercise every day in addition to that. I would love to get the exercises done in the mornings before work, but I am still working into that. I have been getting up ealier to get my breakfast eaten and my lunch packed. I feel better and I don't jiggle as much. I do get discouraged when I don't see the results I want as fast as I want them. It took me nine months to gain this weight, I can't expect it to come off overnight, but I sure want it to. Then there are the particularly humiliating trips to the thrift store to get clothes to hold me over....but we won't go there. :0)
I think that is about all my poor mind can handle right now, and I still have plenty of laundry and packing to do.
Have a blessed evening.
Don't let me forget to tell you about our walk yesterday evening. Veeeeeery interesting.
