I've had an interesting week that was so long it wasn't nearly long enough. :D
The other day, I went to the bathroom. Since it is getting close to Christmas I thought I'd multitask while I was in there, so I grabbed a catalogue to look at. For some reason the little kitten thinks I cannot go to the restroom without her. She'll even run in looking like she just woke up so I will have the help I so obviously need. Sigh. So she got on my lap between me and the catalogue. Now, it wouldn't be so bad if she would just let me pet her while I look at the magazine, but NO, she wants my full attention. I keep shoving her off and she keeps jumping off the dryer back on my lap. I toss her to the floor and find my page again.....and she gets on the sink. She leans over and pats at the catalogue, meowing at me the whole time. I ignore her. She walks along the edge knocking over the lotion, the perfume and the hair oil. So now I am juggling the catalogue, the lotion, perfume and hair oil......and the cat gets on my lap anyway. LOL.
My husband has a friend that is getting ready to ship out to Iraq next month. Now he's a buddy of mine too. But he and my hubby grew up together and they have been spending some time together lately. Sooooo, with my hubby at said friend's house, I had to drive an alternate vehicle to work. We have three sitting in the driveway. One won't start and even if it did, the transmission is shot. My oldest son's car runs great, but I lost the title and while we wait for the replacement title....I can't get legal tags. I have the insurance, but no tags. All that is left is my youngest son's car. It's little. It's missing a headlight. I called hubby to ask where the headlight was. He said it was at his work. I said A lot of good that does me. It's raining and our state law is, if you have to use your windshield wipers, you have to have your lights on. Also I'm heading into the ritzy part of town. The only thing needed in that part of town is to have a tag with Wyandotte county tags.....and guess where my tags are from. So I head out. I got backed out, and went to shift into drive, and the windshield wipers suddenly go at high speed, but I'm still in reverse......cause the shifter lever is NOT on the steering column, but on the floor. What I've done is turn the wipers on spazz speed.
Now I'm off.......and I (used to driving a minivan here) feel like I'm driving a shoe. I feel like I'm dragging my rear on the road. Then I get on the highway and I feel like a speedbump!!! I wondered if the other cars could even see me. I made it to work.
I just pray I won't have to borrow his car much. LOL.
Oh, I've gotten some good ideas for revenge. They range from decapitation to yucky meals. :D
Okay, I guess I should get back to work. NaNo is starting next week and there is much work to be done.
We have a writer's brunch tomorrow and I look forward to it.....even though I have to drive the shoe again. :D
Hi! I'm so excited to have a place where I can share some of my favorite things with you. There will be devotionals, writing articles, Book Reviews (some will be books sent to me for review, some will be books I purchased myself, but whichever way I get the books, I always post a true review), installments of the James Chronicles, and on occasion a Ramblin' post. Hope you enjoy and come back often.

Rastafarian Scare
The other night, I was sleeping so good, all snuggled in my warm bed. Best sleep I'd gotten in several days.
Suddenly, I was awakened by thumping noises on the stairs. I heard mumbling, like growling, groaning sounds. It sounded like my husband and I was sure he'd just injured himself on the stairs. I jumped out of bed, scared out of my gourd.
"Greg, are you all right?" I hurry to the door of the bedroom trying to remember where I put my cell phone so I could call 911, because it really sounded like I needed to. It sounded like he'd bypassed the landing and gone down both flights.
A strange man, tall with long black dreadlocks and sunglasses rushed into the room, waving his arms and yelling stuff I couldn't understand. Naturally I screamed at a pitch that probably could've shattered glass.
About the time my poor sleep fogged brain figured out the "dude" was my husband, he was leaning on the bedroom door laughing his hinney off. I could hear the boys in their room laughing too.
I need to get this prankster back. Anyone have any ideas? I'd appreciate a few juicy ideas.

TA-DAAAAA!
Finally I can shout it from the rooftops! Cheryl Wyatt sold to Steeple Hill! Woohooo! Way to go Cheryl. This is three of the four of our crit group. Cynthia, Pammer, and Cheryl. We mightily missed Michelle, part of our set!
Way to go Squirl, we are so proud of you, girl!
(You know, although this was taken at ACFW before we knew about the contract....it looks like we knew already. Well I was positive, but I'm NOT going to say, "I told you so." Teehee.)

God's Word
My cats know when it is time to eat. The youngest cat will pester me until I'm ready to scream and the oldest cat will just sit in the doorway of the kitchen (where I keep their food bowls) and stare at me. Stare a hole through me. But when I pick up that bag, no matter what corner of our huge house they are in.....they are in the kitchen beside the bowl in an instant. They KNOW the sound of that bag and they know it means food.
It struck me today, that is how we should be when God calls us. When we open up His Word and read, or when we pray.....When He gives His answer we should be there in an instant ready to serve. Here I am Lord, send me.
Sometimes I forget to feed my cats on their schedule (they do NOT go hungry), but they never say, "What took you so long? I don't think I'll eat now."
They gladly accept what I put in the bowl.
I think we should be more grateful for the things we get and quit looking at what God is doing for others. They are on a different path and God needs us to go down OUR path, to do our work.
Whereever He leads us we need to be a light and let God's glory shine through us.
Just a thought. Random, maybe dumb, but I wanted to share.
Hugs!

Ta-da!
Kim Vogel Sawyer, Pammer, and Cindy Woodsmall. Liz's lessons were themed Ta-da. With a slip of the finger of my good buddy (and partner in chaos) we three had a clip of video, showing us doing our ta-das....and it is amazing how God could use such a thing to open our eyes to the truth of His love and mercy, but that is exactly what he did. Love you guys!
