Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. It's one of my favorite holidays. One year our homeschool group had a Thanksgiving get together and we dressed up as Pilgrims and Indians. I made a pilgrim's outfit for me and my oldest son and my youngest wanted to go as a Brave. (My sewing machine gave out right before we added sleeves, but he still looked good, lol. Of the two kids, my youngest got more of my Native American coloring.) The kids got to go to the podium in this group of friends they'd grown up with and state what they were most thankful for. There were some great answers. Every year, at our family dinner with my husband's family I always ask all the kids what they are most thankful for.
That's what I'd like to post here. But I can't even begin to count all the marvelous blessings that God has rained down on me. My health, my kids, my sweet and handsome prince of a husband, my family, my family, myfamily!, warm water to wash with, heat throughout my house (go without those for a while and you'll begin to appreciate them too), my stove to make cooking easier, food to cook on said stove, my friends, a roof over my head, a car to get around in, money to buy gas for that car-actually it's a van, my animals, my computers, the stories that God gives me in my head that entertain me as well as frustrate me when I try to get them on paper, ACFW, . . .
I don't want to be like the nine lepers that our Lord cured that didn't even thank Him, I want to be like the one who returned to thank Him. I want to sing His praises until the day I go to be with Him, then I want to sing them until eternity is through-which is never.
So share something you are thankful for.
Hi! I'm so excited to have a place where I can share some of my favorite things with you. There will be devotionals, writing articles, Book Reviews (some will be books sent to me for review, some will be books I purchased myself, but whichever way I get the books, I always post a true review), installments of the James Chronicles, and on occasion a Ramblin' post. Hope you enjoy and come back often.

A God of Hope
I prayed about the situation last night. I know tough times are ahead. Especially for us Christians.
But as I prayed, I realized that I trust in God's will even when it isn't what I wanted. His will is perfect. AND I know this is God's will and fits into His perfect plan.
AND I got the distinct impression that He is telling me not to loose hope. Buck up for a hard and difficult road, but never loose faith and never loose our hope that is in Christ Jesus.
Let all God's people begin to pray without ceasing. Can I get an amen?

America the Beautiful
I give you the first president elected by dead people and cartoon characters.
I just watched as the better man gave a concession speech. And though he sounded hopeful, I believe this is the end of the America I know and love.
I really hate when an honest man fights an honest fight against someone who doesn't even know what honor is.
I am beyond disappointed. But I DO trust God and know His will is perfect. So I will believe in Him.

Election Day
I voted today! Did you?
I wore my shirt that says: Don't whine. Vote.
I took my oldest son to vote with me before he went to work. It was his first major election and he was excited. (when he was 16 he didn't want to drive, he wanted to vote).
Just heard our polls have closed.
There are other elections going on as well. ACFW has 5 offices up. I am currently the Vice President but am running for President. My prayer is that God chooses who is what ACFW needs at this point and time.
Prayers are appreciated.

Praying Boldly

In my devotionals yesterday (both from different sources) the theme was prayer. One talked about how to talk to my Father as a friend. One told me to pray boldly.I am praying for our nation on this eve of the election. Every election is a time when things are going to change. But this election, we know is going to change our lives forever. If we swing one way it will not only change the America we love, and my family has spilled blood for, to an America that will no longer be free.
The abortion issue alone is enough to scare me spitless.
What about our 2nd ammendment rights that are in danger. Why is our right to bear arms in danger? What part of "shall not be infringed" do they not understand? Ever heard of a communist country that allowed their people to keep guns? Do you know why Thomas Jefferson and all those wise people who wrote the constitution were thinking when they wrote in that right? The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is. . .to protect themselves against tyranny in government. Thomas Jefferson
Our flag, our anthem they mean something to us who love our country. They are a part of our heritage who we will ALWAYS be. They want to erase our heritage, change our values, change our America.
I read today that this election is in the hands of God's people. So let go let your voice count tomorrow.
And all God's people said:
AMEN!!
