Aimee and FRed

According to Aims, the FR in FRed stands for Fuzzy and Red. :0) Sorry I didn't get this one in here sooner, but I had to crop it first.  Posted by Picasa

Moon of Popping Trees

That is what the Lakhota word for March means. I'staThat's just wrong folks. In March it's good. But we've had a mild winter.

We watched Elizabethtown last night. My hubby rented it because he knows I love Orlando Bloom. :0) It's a cute movie, has a few adult situations, so I wouldn't recommend it for younger children, and parents would need to watch it first before they let tween/young teens watch it.

Diet: Quite awful lately. But I am maintaining my weight by the grace of God. Can't wait to get back to exercising daily and eating right. REALLY need to go to the store.

Went to Wally World today and meant to run by the grocery store too, but I ran out of time because here is what happened....typical Pammer type day. I went to WalMart and grabbed the stuff I needed, nicely divided into personal and tax deductible stuff. The nice lady starts to ring me up, so I open my purse to get my card out (don't know about the rest of you, but the sooner I start this, the less the people behind me have to wait) only to notice.....my wallet is NOT in my purse. In my mind's eye, I can see its luxurient repose on the desk beside my computer. Not helpful. Ever the lady I moan, "I don't have my money." The lady knows me and asks if I plan to come right back. Yes. Well, you can see how this took up all the time I had for errands, but they were seriously low on the Love Inspired books by Steeple Hill and they just put them out today. People must've been staking out the book isle today. :0)

I do have the goods, so if you want a chance to win a free book (and another chance at Margaret's...this time an autographed one....) go to my website. The link is over on the right.

Through the Fire by Sharon Mignerey
When Silence Falls by Shirlee McCoy
Special Drawing: When Dreams Come True by Margaret Daley (autographed)

Go to the new contest page and it will tell you the rules.

I have a ton of editing to do and crits to go through. The deadline has been lifted, but I like the momentum I have been on so I am giving myself another two weeks to get it done and out of the shoot. I even bought the posterboards for my next WIP's story board, and GMC (Goal, Motivation, Conflict) board. Probably start a timeline too since all these historicals are entertwined, and I am have already started the next one of my contemporary suspenses.

God has been showing me quite a lot lately about the beauty of time with Him and the benefits of an obedient heart. If I make a promise to Him, it is just as important to keep it as if I made the promise to someone else. Now that might seem like a no brainer, but think about it. You promise God to write for one hour, and things keep coming up and then you are too tired, but God understands, right? He does, BUT do you know how much better you feel and how unhindered your inspiration when you fulfill that promise to Him? Just something to think about.

Tomorrow, I will be giving away a book on this blog. As of now, it is not released. Come back tomorrow and find out what the book is.

God bless your night.

A Family Forever

A FAMILY FOREVER
by Brenda Coulter
From Steeple Hill Love Inspired
Look for it in stores after February 28
or order it right now from Amazon.com
Read most of the first chapter at BrendaCoulter.comVisit Brenda's blog, No rules. Just write.

I just finished this one. I loved this book! I never doubted Brenda, ever since I read and reread and reread her first book Finding Hope. I knew this new one would be good. I waited for this one.

The way she described things so well I could see it on the screen in my mind. One description of Tucker working in his workshop made me laugh outloud because it was just like my husband. :0) I laughed and I cried. I yelled at the heroine and got mad at both of them. I still find myself thinking of them now and again and wondering how they are doing! LOL. I had the worst time getting anything else done until I finished the book.

Run get this book. This one will go on my "Hands off Keeper Shelf".

Feel free to visit her blog or website, both delightful sites. The links are above or over to the right.

Have a great night!

Margaret Daley- When Dreams Come True

My March Love Inspired, When Dreams Come True, is a different type of book for me. Zoey and Dane are married but their marriage is very much in trouble. I decided to tackle this problem. Just because a couple are married doesn't mean they don't have problems that can destroy a loving relationship. How does a couple work through these problems? How do you bring two people who are headed for divorce back together to forge a strong, binding relationship? These are some of the questions I explore in When Dreams Come True. I also deal with alcoholism and a person who allows his job to take over his life to the point of excluding what is really important in his life. Although there are some tough issues in this book, there are moments of lightheartedness, too. It's hard not to have that when you have three kids. In the book Mandy, the middle child, wants to help her dad paint the dollhouse. She takes a peek into the paint can and makes a mess. My son is painting his house and his fiancee is helping him. His fiancee has two little girls and the three year old ended up with paint all over her hair where she "brushed" up against the wet wall. Keeping them out of the paint has been a job. When asked what color they wanted their bedrooms, they said they wanted red, green, blue, purple, yellow, orange--I think you get the idea--all the colors. I suggested they paint a rainbow on one of the walls to get the colors in.When someone once asked me how much of my life is in one of my books, I told them my life is all through my writing. It is hard totally to take yourself out of a book. My experiences shape what I write. There are some books that have more of me in them than others, but I'm there in bits and pieces. I work with students with special needs. I have written quite a few books about different disabilities. My students have added such a richness to my life that I want to share that with others.

Remember that commenting on today's blog or yesterday's will enter you in a drawing for a copy of Margaret's new book When Dreams Come True.

I will have my sons pick a name out of a 'bowl' Sunday evening and announce the winner here.

Have a great day.

When Dreams Come True

by Margaret Daley

Steeple Hill Love Inspired

(back blurb) When her DEA agent husband's plane went down, Zoey Witherspoon thought her life was over. But with two kids to care for, and another one the way, she moved back home to Sweetwater to be closer to friends and family.
Two years later, her world was turned upside down: her husband was alive! Amnesia-stricken Dane wasn't exactly the same person he'd been, but neither was Zoey. She refused to return to the fractured marriage they'd shared--workaholic Dane had never been around--yet moving forward was a scary prospect. Would a second chance at happiness make all her dreams come true?

Very good read. Margaret did a great job as always. The characters are so real that you feel what they feel. The spiritual thread is well done, not preachy, but still showing the beauty of the love and grace of God and of second chances. It shows that sometimes to open our hearts and make ourselves vulnerable, that is when we recieve God's greatest blessings.

I normally don't like reading stories about married couples (although I would read ANY of Margaret's books, she's just that good), I found my self riveted by this touching tale and the growing and changing relationship between Zoey and her 'new' husband. This one really spoke to me and I easily identified with Zoey and Dane. It is a story that will follow you for a while after you turn the last page.

Tomorrow, Margaret will be posting a guest post.

I invite you to enjoy the story of Zoey and Dane also. If you post here today or tomorrow I will put your name in a hat (okay, a bowl actually) and let one of my sons pull out a name. Margaret will then send you a free copy of this book.

Have a great day and see you tomorrow.

(Sorry I haven't been blogging much, but I've been trying to get this book out of my hair so I can work on something new, although as most of my writer friends know, after a marathon like this...the first thing I'm going to do is clean house, lol. I think I have dust bunnies big enough to chase my cats! :0) )

Happy Valentines Day

This is a VERY special day!

First of all (I'm going to be telling on my age here), this is the 22nd anniversary of mine and my hubby's first date!!!! Shocking isn't it? So we celebrate it as Valentines Day and as an anniversary.

Second all of you Genesis contestants, time to grab your courage and wring it out.....and SEND those entries IN!!! This is the last day to do so.

BTW, if you are interested in contests and what all the hype is about....check out my friends blog. She is doing a special on contests. Very interesting stuff! Great info. Her name is Squirl at http://scrollsquirrel.blogspot.com.

Tomorrw is my DATE with my friend. :0) She is stopping by to visit on the way to a writer's conference. I can't believe the time has gone so quickly. My whole family is excited to be having some time with her and meeting her face to face for the first time.

I've got my head stuck in a deadline, but I am going to be stopping back in soon to do two reviews and at least one interview. One with Margaret Daley about her upcoming release When Dreams Come True and Brenda Coulter's new book A Family Forever. Thoroughly enjoying them.

This month in the acfwbookclub, we are reading Tracey Bateman's Leave it to Claire, a hilariously funny mom lit that even non mom's would love. I highly recommend this book and anything else she has written, she is one talented lady (not to mention sweet as pie).

Lately I've been listening to lessons on the armor of God, about spiritual warfare. Very interesting. Last week I remember talk of shoes and today was about our shields. The war is getting fierce my friend, check your armor. Don't forget any part of it. We want to be able to deflect the enemy's fiery darts.

Hugs and blessings and prayers.
