About that smell

Well, I haven't seen Fluffy the Snake for at almost a week. Don't know who is more relieved me or the snake. :D (oh yes, my hubby named the snake, says we're leaving it right where it is. I told him fine, just put some SHEETROCK up).

I promised a story. My sons and I take walks that last about 45 minutes. We are getting used to that so we are thinking of expanding our horizons a bit, but that is another story. :) Anyway the sidewalk up the tall hill goes by some woods. Right as the woods run out, there is a large lot with a nice house and an RV. Lots of land.

As we walked for the first nice day (we'd had a lot of rain) in a while. Right before we got to the woods, my oldest son said, tell me if it smells weird to you up here. It wasn't long until I located the area with no help.

"Sheeeeeyoouuu! That smells like something died." I couldn't get out of the smell radius fast enough. Then I stopped. I remembered smelling something really bad, a smell I'd never smelled before from the gulley behind our house and it turned out to be a dead person. So I tried to pull that smell out of my memory. This smell just was awful, but I had definately smelled worse.

For four days we smelled the smell and I wondered if I should call the police because I was scared to look. Finally, I gathered my courage and told my oldest son that we were going to find out what was smelling bad.

So on our next walk, I announced that we were going to find the source of that smell and call the police because I was sure we'd need them.

We approached the smelly area and peered into the woods.

Well, y'all can think about what you think it might be.

I'm heading on vacation. NO internet connection. But I gotta get packed and if me hubby calls and finds me still on the puter instead of packing, he'll turn this interesting shade of red. :)

Have a great weekend. Then a great week. And also a Happy Memorial Day!

Hugs!

An update

Here's a closer look. Um, I didn't take this, my son did. EWww. Posted by Picasa

I was going to blog today...

about interesting stuff. Right! A couple of ceiling tiles fell of the back edition the other day. Sometimes there are birds nesting back there but we didn't see any or even hear any birds. This morning, after passing under this I don't know how many times....my son looks up and says, "Hey, Mom. I think I know why there weren't any birds in there." Do you see this fella hanging out of the ceiling!!!! ACK! It was about that time I noticed one of the cats was missing, but I finally found her napping under a display table in the dining room. Shew!

I used to pretend to be unafraid of snakes so the guys wouldn't make fun of me. But this guy is just to BIG to be blase about. I screeched and ran to the farthest part of the house and called my husband at work. (What he was supposed to do about it I don't know.)

Now the intruder has pulled himself out on a beam and I'm afraid to pass under him to use the restroom (unfortunately the upstairs one is being worked on....sigh).

So in view of the exciting morning....you'll understand if I tell you the story of what my son and I discovered when we followed the 'stench' into the woods, later. :D Um, y'all could pray for me, or my nerves at least.  Posted by Picasa

Real quick post

I FINALLY FINISHED REWRITING THE CHAPTER THAT WAS GIVING ME FITS!!!! Woohoo! I am so relieved to have that done. Now on to the next.

My friend, Heather, and I agreed to have our wips done and submitted by the first of June. I am so glad someone is finally kicking me in the rear. I was stuck in a rut.

The enemy has been whispering lies to me all day, and I'm not listening. I won't give in to the black depression. Anyone out there feel like praying, I sure won't fight ya. :)

God has been slamming me with messages about prayer. I will share these tomorrow or the next day. It's late and I am just getting over a severe allergic reaction. All the meds really drag me down. Not to mention I worked out for about an hour and fifteen minutes. I am sooooo determined to loose this weight and I'm not going to tiptoe around it anymore. It's time to get tough. I think I managed to keep my calorie intake around 1400-1500.

My baby has his birthday this Thursday and I just want to cry. Where did all that precious time go? I enjoyed every minute of their childhood, yet it went by so fast. (ahem, yeah, one of them is making fun of my raccoon eyes). I guess I will just have to hold the memories fast in my heart.

I'll post this and go take care of the raccoon eyes. :D This getting old and slathering on all kinds of creams is for the birds. But I don't want to LOOK my age!

Have a great evening. Keep praying.

One more thing. A lady on our writing loop mentioned that the Christian families were under attack, most especially the marriage. We've seen the divorce rate go up and up and up. What we aren't thinking about are the marriages that the people will not get divorces, but they live unhappily and NOT in the manner God intended. Resentment bubbles and ruins lives.

I challenge you all to pray for marriage. Your marriage, your friends, your sister's in Christ...marriage in general. As a foundation of the family, it is imperative that it stand strong.
Blessings!
